AFOA Nunavut is a chapter of AFOA Canada dedicated to strengthening financial management, governance, and leadership in Inuit and Indigenous communities across Nunavut. We provide training, certification, and networking for finance professionals, administrators, and community leaders.

AFOA Nunavut is the newest chapter of AFOA Canada — the only national association dedicated to building a community of professionals in Indigenous finance, management, and governance. Incorporated in 2016 under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, we serve Inuit and Indigenous communities across the territory.
Our mission is to enhance the knowledge, skills, and professional development of those working in financial management and governance in Nunavut. We partner with AFOA Canada to deliver certifications, training, and networking that strengthen community capacity and build a pipeline of Indigenous financial professionals.

Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager
The CAFM designation is the professional standard for Indigenous financial managers. Includes 14 courses, a final exam, and two years of Indigenous work experience.
Certified Aboriginal Professional Administrator
The CAPA program builds advanced administrative and management skills for senior administrators in Indigenous organizations and communities.
Indigenous Financial Management Certificate
A cohort-based certificate program covering seven core courses — the first step toward the CAFM designation. Delivered through partner colleges.
Elected Leaders Program
Designed for elected officials — building knowledge in fiscal management, financial oversight, and community economic development.
